Woman Is Arrested For Entering Changi Airport Transit Area To Meet K-Pop Group ENHYPEN

A woman has been arrested for allegedly misusing her boarding pass to enter Changi Airport's transit area just to meet a K-pop group
According to The Straits Times, the 25-year-old woman had allegedly bought a flight ticket with the sole purpose of entering the airport transit area, and had no intention of flying.
Reports believe that the unnamed woman wanted to meet K-pop group ENHYPEN. The seven-member boy band had performed two shows in Singapore on 20 and 21 January. The woman was arrested in the airport on 22 January.
Details of the incident were released by police yesterday, 8 February.

According to police, the woman violated the Infrastructure Protection Act 2017, which led to her arrest
The Act prohibits the misuse of boarding passes to enter protected places in the airport.
A protected place is an area where officials take special precautions and added security, in order to control the movement of people for public safety reasons.
If found guilty, the woman may face a fine of up to SGD20,000 (RM70,900), a jail term of up to two years, or both.
"Those who make use of boarding passes to enter the transit areas for reasons other than to travel out of Singapore will be detected and arrested," the police said, as reported by Channel News Asia.
Police investigations are ongoing.
