<p>The Japanese billionaire died in Hiroshima on 12 February, according to a <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Notice_HP.pdf">statement</a> from his company on 19 February.</p>
<p>A private funeral was held by his close friends and family members.</p>

<p>The airshow is scheduled to take place from 20 to 25 February.</p>

<p>Data from the flight tracking website <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/i-pooc#33f9f8e4">FlightRadar24</a> shows that the aircraft flew southwards and made a right turn towards the west. The aircraft then ascended to an altitude of 1,725ft and maintained an airspeed of around 130 knots (240km/h). Soon, it began losing altitude, with the last known flight data showing that it reached a vertical speed of negative 4,096ft per minute.</p>

<h2>Here&#8217;s a closer look at what happens to a person&#8217;s estates when he or she passes away without a will in Malaysia:</h2>

<p>First of all, the death will be classified as &#8216;intestate&#8217;, a.k.a. death without leaving a will or instructions on estate distribution — this applies to savings in bank accounts, properties, investments, and other assets.</p>
<p>Next, depending on whether you&#8217;re a Muslim or non-Muslim, intestacy (inheritance) laws will determine how your estates are distributed.</p>
<p>However, this does not include Employees Provident Fund (EPF) or insurance payouts, as nominees for those would have been chosen. That&#8217;s why EPF members are encouraged to appoint a Nominee to facilitate and expedite the administration of EPF savings by the appointed Nominee after their demise.</p>
<p>For nomination made by Muslim members, the EPF savings will be administered and distributed according to Faraid Law. An EPF Nominee will be the Executor or Administrator of the said savings, and the same goes for Takaful. For nominations made by non-Muslim members, the savings will be administered and distributed according to the member’s instruction.</p>

<p><p>Surviving family members will need to apply for Faraid Certificate from the Shariah Court. Next, all rightful Heirs must mutually agree to appoint the same Administrator. The estates will be distributed based on Shariah law — it will be given to Baitulmal (Islamic financial institution) if there are no surviving family members or no one claims the estates.</p>
<p>Beneficiaries have to apply for a Letter of Administration before the estates are distributed. The letter allows the person named to administer the estate of a deceased who has died without leaving a valid will.</p>

<p>Contrary to popular belief, estates are not &#8220;frozen&#8221; at AmanahRaya.</p>
<p>When a person passes away, the estates will be in the name of the deceased until their loved ones begin the process of administering it.&nbsp;The estates will not go directly to AmanahRaya.</p>
<p>For instance, if Ahmad leaves behind property, cars, bank deposits, and stocks when he dies, all assets will be frozen at the location or agency where they are being kept. The ownership of the assets still belongs to Ahmad until his surviving family members obtain a Letter of Administration. As long as this step is not done or delayed, the assets will continue to be frozen.</p>
<p>To prevent this from happening, every individual should know the basics of estate management. Better still, you should plan for your inheritance in advance by including a will as part of your wealth and estate planning instrument.</p>

<p><p>According to the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/crime-courts/2024/02/1008387/hospital-staff-leaves-behind-daughter-car-five-year-old-girl-dies">New Straits Times</a>, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police were informed of the incident by a medical officer at the hospital at 8pm the same day.</p>
<p>He said preliminary investigations found that the victim was left by her mother in the car by accident, after she was picked up from a nearby daycare centre at about 2pm.</p>
<p>&#8220;The victim was asleep in the car and the engine was turned off. The 34-year-old mother, who is also a hospital staff, only realised that she had left the child behind after her husband contacted her at 6pm.</p>
<p>&#8220;The unconscious victim was then taken to the hospital&#8217;s Emergency Department and efforts to resuscitate her failed. She was confirmed dead by the medical officers there,&#8221; Mohd Iqbal said in a statement today, 1 February.</p>

<p>In a video posted on Instagram, the user shared that his 33-year-old sister suffered a stroke 20 days after giving birth to her first child via Caesarean delivery. </p>
<p>He said that she was admitted to the hospital and remained there for five months.</p>
<p>The man said she was discharged from the hospital, last Friday, 29 December, but her health began to decline again two days later.</p>
<p>On Sunday, 31 December, she was readmitted to the hospital and initially placed in the high-risk zone before being transferred to the critical zone. The brother said the doctors then recommended putting her into a medically-induced coma because her health was deteriorating rapidly.</p>
<p>According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.healthline.com/health/heart-attack/induced-coma-after-heart-attack">Healthline</a>, a medically induced coma is a controlled, reversible slowdown of brain function to protect the brain and allow the body to heal. It is only induced in hospital intensive care units with careful supervision from doctors for patients in critical condition.</p>
<p>The woman was sedated via a breathing tube at 2am.&nbsp;However, by dawn, the brother woke up to the news that his sister had died.</p>

<p>Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said pedestrians found the man lying unconscious at the entrance to the bank&#8217;s ATM machine area at 7.29am﻿, <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bharian.com.my/berita/kes/2024/01/1195364/lelaki-maut-leher-tersepit-pintu-gelangsar-ruang-atm-bank" title="Link: https://www.bharian.com.my/berita/kes/2024/01/1195364/lelaki-maut-leher-tersepit-pintu-gelangsar-ruang-atm-bank">Berita Harian</a> reported.</p>
<p>&#8220;CCTV footage at the location showed the victim, aged between 50 and 60, lying unconscious in front of the ATM at 11.48pm last night (1 January). It is believed that the victim was intoxicated,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>&#8220;At 12.01am, the ATM&#8217;s shutter closed automatically, trapping the victim&#8217;s neck between the shutter and the floor before it opened again at 6am,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Mohd Iqbal said the deceased was later pronounced dead at the scene by an assistant medical officer from Tuanku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital Klang.</p>

<h2>Tuaran Hospital in Sabah is under scrutiny for allegedly misdiagnosing a patient, leading to his death</h2>

<p>On 29 December last year, an 18-year-old patient died due to an alleged misdiagnosis at Tuaran Hospital.</p>
<p>Tuaran member of parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bharian.com.my/berita/nasional/2024/01/1195275/remaja-meninggal-dunia-selepas-hospital-tuaran-gagal-kenal-pasti">stated</a> that the patient sought treatment at the hospital for a high fever on 25 December, but the hospital sent the patient home.</p>
<p>&#8220;However, on 28 December, the teenager&#8217;s family brought him to the hospital again because his fever did not subside,&#8221; he said, adding that the doctors at the hospital sent the patient home after determining that his situation was not severe.</p>
<p>The teenager&#8217;s family took him to Tuaran Hospital for the third time on 29 December after he experienced bleeding.</p>
<p>Tangau <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bharian.com.my/berita/nasional/2024/01/1195275/remaja-meninggal-dunia-selepas-hospital-tuaran-gagal-kenal-pasti">shared</a> that Tuaran Hospital then referred the patient to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where doctors discovered that the patient had contracted severe dengue fever.</p>
<p>The patient, Aidil @ Erjuand Christian, died in the Intensive Care Unit on the same day.</p>

<p>JKNS director Datuk Dr Asits Sanna said the department was deeply concerned about the death of the teenager from dengue fever, allegedly due to a misdiagnosis at Tuaran Hospital.</p>
<p>He stated that a comprehensive and transparent investigation  was underway to identify corrective measures that could enhance the quality of healthcare services for the people of Sabah.</p>
<p>&#8220;Currently, the hospital has four specialists on duty, including a general practitioner, two pediatric specialists, and an emergency medicine specialist,&#8221; he said in a <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/nst-viral/2024/01/996650/nstviralsabah-health-take-corrective-action-following-boy-died-late" title="Link: https://www.nst.com.my/news/nst-viral/2024/01/996650/nstviralsabah-health-take-corrective-action-following-boy-died-late">statement</a> yesterday, 2 January.</p>
<p>In August last year, Tuaran Hospital was accused of failing to provide proper treatment to another patient, who was taken to the hospital after suffering a fall. The medical staff on duty, however, found no serious injuries and sent the patient home, resulting in her death, according ﻿to <a href="https://www.bernama.com/en/news.php?id=2212083">Bernama</a>.</p>
