<p>&#8220;He is the top decision-maker in the company. But not only is he the CEO, he is also a staff in the advertising department, a customer service backend representative, and a store salesman.<b></b></p>
<p>&#8220;He is a person who takes care of the people in front of him to the extreme,&#8221; they wrote of his kindness to his employees and dedication to the company.</p>
<p>However, the employees revealed that he has not paid himself a salary for all the years of hard work he has contributed.</p>
<p>&#8220;He has only taken a symbolic salary, we think he has contributed over four years of unpaid work to the company,&#8221; they said.</p>

<p><p>According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.chinapress.com.my/?p=3797631">China Press</a>, Diong has been running the fruit store business for four years, and has watched his company grow from just a handful of staff to about 40 people, with some employees even taking on managerial roles and becoming shareholders.</p>
<p>Diong told the Chinese daily that he was taken aback by the gift, and joked that maybe he has been too frugal, which is why his team may have wanted to surprise him with such a big gift.</p>
<p>However, he thanked his employees for their sincere gratitude and friendship, which he said he cherishes more than worldly possessions.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think I&#8217;m so lucky. All the other luxury cars can&#8217;t compare to this car of mine,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>The woman then claimed that the company used the excuse that they could only offer her a low wage because she had no job experience prior to the interview.</p>
<p>&#8220;I have a degree and they only offered me RM1,600 monthly salary because I don&#8217;t have any work experience.</p>
<p>&#8220;If I had applied to work in the retail industry with no job experience, they would&#8217;ve offered me at least RM3,000 a month,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>Upset by the offer, she expressed that the experience left her feeling hopeless, especially since she had travelled all the way from her hometown to try and make a living in the capital city.</p>

<p>According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.mstar.com.my/lokal/viral/2024/01/31/selepas-20-tahun-rakyat-malaysia-baru-sedar-penat-kerja-di-singapura-bujang-simpanan-rm12-juta-tak-tahu-nak-buat-apa">mStar</a>, the 42-year-old man said he began working as an engineer in Singapore in 2003.</p>
<p>During his tenure in the country, he disclosed that he successfully accumulated SGD354,258 (RM1.24 million) in his Central Provident Fund (CPF) account.</p>
<p><b>CPF serves as a social security and retirement savings scheme for employees in Singapore, similar to Malaysia&#8217;s Employees Provident Fund (EPF).</b></p>
<p>&#8220;If your CPF has accumulated to this extent, what should you do? I&#8217;m still contemplating what to do with this money because I&#8217;m no longer able to work in Singapore and commute daily.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s hard to quit my job, considering of my current position as an engineer with a monthly salary of SGD5,000 (RM17,618). When I saw the total amount [in my CPF account]﻿, I felt like withdrawing it and enjoying the fruits of my labour,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>&#8220;The original plan was to work until the age of 55, but when I got promoted, I felt stressed with the increased workload. That&#8217;s when I realised I needed to explore other options before chronic illness sets in,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>He added that he does not intend to use his CPF funds for property investment due to the  high capital requirements and his inability to manage them.</p>
<p>Seeking insights and suggestions, he turned to the Facebook group for guidance on his next chapter in Malaysia, as he doesn&#8217;t have a wife to turn to, and his parents asked him to figure out his future on his own.</p>

<p>After dropping out of high school at the age of 15, Nafili&#8217;s opportunities were limited. He was only able to earn RM700 to RM800 a month collecting and loading palm fruit, and the laborious work took a toll.</p>
<p>Nevertheless, things started to change for Nafili when he got a second chance through the <b>SOLS Foundation Solar Academy </b>scholarship.</p>
<p>The programme not only provided him with education, but also an opportunity to work in the solar industry. While his journey had its ups and downs, Nafili saw a gradual transformation as he ventured into practical training and personal development. Once shy and hesitant, Nafili now confidently interacts with clients and seeks professional advice on site, while learning to be resilient when facing challenges.</p>
<p>Nafili also makes almost three times more than he did before, and is able to contribute to his family financially. Speaking to SAYS, Nafili said that he hopes to save up for a motorcycle, rent a room, build an emergency fund, and contribute more to his family in the next two years.</p>

<p>SOLS Foundation, which used to be called SOLS 24/7, is a non-profit organisation that aims to serve and empower the B40 community with free education, personal development, and employment support.</p>
<p>The Solar Academy is one of SOLS Foundation&#8217;s scholarship programmes that helps underserved students get a headstart in the solar industry. So far, over 600 students have completed the programme, most of which are from Orang Asli and Orang Asal communities.</p>

<p>How it works is that students will go through three months of classroom theory training, three months of on-the-job practical training, and six months of practical training in the solar industry.</p>
<p>The Solar Academy provides students with 100% free education, certification, food, allowance, and accommodation throughout the year-long programme.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s cool is that those who successfully go through the programme will get certified and be offered a secure job placement in rooftop solar equipment installation, with a minimum monthly salary of RM1,500 to RM1,800.</p>

<p>&#8220;SOLS Foundation didn&#8217;t just offer me a job, it nurtured dreams and aspirations,&#8221; said Fuad, who is currently a Project Coordinator for the Green Impact Team.</p>
<p>Despite finding it hard to keep up with the physical demands of a solar panel installer, Fuad pressed on and explored an administrative role within another department. Now, he&#8217;s part of the team that handles corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects like installing solar panels in off-grid areas.﻿</p>

<p><p>As for Jeprin Rasdu, who has been with SOLS Foundation for 13 years, he rose through the ranks from a student all the way to becoming a manager at SOLS Energy, the organisation&#8217;s home solar company.</p>
<p>&#8220;I started in SOLS as a student, then a trainer. Now, I&#8217;m at SOLS Energy as the Logistics Manager. SOLS has given me a lot of opportunities and development, even up till now,&#8221; he shared.</p>
