<p>In a post shared on the Chinese social media platform <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.xiaohongshu.com/explore/65b470be000000002c012f80">XiaoHongShu</a>, the man named JS Lim revealed that he purchased a RM1.5 million semi-detached home in Johor Bahru at the age of 26.</p>
<p>Lim, who works in the funeral industry, expressed pride in this accomplishment, considering it the best gift he has ever given his parents.</p>
<p>&#8220;In fact, this is the second house I&#8217;ve purchased. The﻿ first one was for investment,&#8221; he wrote in the caption of his post.</p>

<p>Jin and his wife, both in their 80s, had been living in their flat since the 1990s when it was allocated to the couple by the university where Jin worked.</p>
<p>Following an operation a few years ago, Jin&#8217;s son and daughter-in-law began pressuring him to transfer the property to their son. &#8220;The flat would go to my son and grandson in the end, so I did not think they would do anything terrible to me before I died,&#8221; Jin told reporters.</p>
<p>The value of this ownership transfer amounted to a substantial 1.05 million yuan (approximately RM697,000). However, Jin&#8217;s son didn&#8217;t pay for anything. </p>
<p>&#8220;The ownership went straight to my grandson,&#8221; Jin added. At the time, he believed that he and his wife would continue to live in the flat, and their grandson would inherit it when they passed away.</p>

<p>Di muzium itu, akan ada pertugas yang membawa pelawat untuk berjalan di kawasan tersebut. Bukan itu saja, petugas akan memberikan pencerahan tentang bagaimana denda sebatan dilakukan di penjara kepada orang awam.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Susulan itu, tular sebuah video yang menunjukkan budak-budak di situ ketakutan apabila dimarahi oleh seorang petugas.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Petugas yang dikenali sebagai Tuan Nizar memberikan pendedahan sebatan rotan kepada pelawat yang datang. Namun, dapat dilihat dia cuba menasihati budak-budak di situ yang ketagih dengan gajet akan menerima denda yang sama.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Perkara itu membuatkan ramai budak di situ ketakutan dan berjanji bahawa mereka tidak akan bermain gajet terus-terusan lagi. Ibu bapa yang berada di sana turut gelak menyaksikan anak-anak mereka ketakutan. Bagi mereka, biarlah mereka dapat pengajaran daripada Tuan Nizar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t make sense! It&#8217;s seriously unfair! <b>Do you agree that primary and secondary schools should have graduation lunch or dinner at four or five-star hotels, where they would charge about RM150 to RM200 per student?</b> It&#8217;s crazy!&#8221; she wrote in her caption.</p>

<p>&#8220;And what will people say if the parents only pay for the student to go? &#8216;Oh why didn&#8217;t their mother come? Why didn&#8217;t their father come? Pity the boy,&#8217; the other parents will say.</p>
<p><b>&#8220;The whole situation is just emotional blackmail,&#8221;</b> she said.</p>
<p>She claimed that many headmasters and teachers want to show off their schools on social media by holding their students&#8217; graduation ceremonies at fancy hotels.</p>
<p>&#8220;Can they think? Not all parents can afford it or have good jobs. Secondly, some parents have many children and other commitments, how can they spend RM200 just like that?&#8221; she questioned.</p>

<p>Adrea added that government schools organising such an event is &#8220;cruel&#8221; as students from poor family backgrounds would feel discriminated against when they cannot attend their own graduation.</p>
<p>She hoped that the matter will be addressed by the Education Ministry, or at least discussed among teachers and parents in their respective schools before the event is organised.</p>
