<p>The incident was shared in a TikTok <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@alepdepay/photo/7335712633250778376?lang=en">post</a> by user @alepdepay, who witnessed the ordeal while leaving a store in Bangsar Utama on Thursday, 15 February.</p>
<p>In the note, the woman expressed frustration that she had an emergency but couldn&#8217;t drive her vehicle to the hospital because a black Honda was <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://says.com/my/news/man-detained-harassing-woman-double-parked-car" title="Link: https://says.com/my/news/man-detained-harassing-woman-double-parked-car">double parked</a> behind her car. </p>
<p>Despite the driver leaving their phone number, the woman claimed that they did not answer the phone, despite her numerous attempts to contact them.</p>

<p>&#8220;This is a totally disgusting act, and more importantly, is disappointing behaviour.</p>
<p>&#8220;<b>The price of our books start from RM1 and is mostly within the range of RM7 to RM25.</b> Why would you want to steal cheap books from a small local business like ours?&#8221; she questioned.</p>

<p><p>She said the incident occurred around noon on Saturday, 17 February, and was not only caught on camera by the bookstore&#8217;s CCTVs, but also witnessed by a customer who was in the store at the time.</p>
<p>Ang said the man, wearing a cap and a face mask, <b>went into the shop with a satchel bag minutes after her staff left for their lunch break.</b></p>
<p>She also suspects that the man was familiar with her store, as he went straight to a certain section to take the books he wanted.﻿</p>
<p>Furthermore, she was aghast that <b>the thief also had the audacity to help himself to a cup of coffee that he also did not pay for</b> at the checkout counter before walking out of the store.</p>
<p>&#8220;I estimate the total cost of the stolen books to be around RM150 to RM200. However, what hurts more than the monetary loss is the ugliness of humanity,&#8221; said the bookseller.</p>

<p>Menerusi laporan <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.sinarharian.com.my/article/650186/edisi/perak/wanita-tunggang-motosikal-dari-changkat-jering-ke-kl-jual-sayur-kampung">Sinar Harian</a>, Siti Norol Salwani Ismail, 29, dari Changkat Jering, di sini memulakan perniagaan menjual sayuran kampung di ibu negara demi menyara seorang anaknya berusia 10 tahun ketika bergelar ibu tunggal.</p>
<p>Dia sebelum ini pernah bekerja sebagai penghantar makanan menunggang motosikal setiap hari Sabtu ke Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras untuk menjual petai, pucuk paku, pucuk ubi, bayam brazil, nangka muda, durian belanda, jering dan ulam-ulaman.</p>
<p>Menurutnya, idea &#8216;gila&#8217; berniaga sayur kampung di Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, terlintas secara tiba-tiba selepas terbeli pucuk paku tua dan sayuran lain dengan harga mahal dan tidak segar ketika berada di sana tahun lalu.</p>
<p>Selain itu, perancangan awal menjual sayur dan ulam-ulaman bermula pada Julai tahun lalu kerana merasakan ia akan mendapat permintaan tinggi.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;Selepas kejadian itu, terlintas di fikiran untuk cuba berkongsi dengan menjual hasil tanaman kampung segar dengan orang Kuala Lumpur memandangkan ia mudah di peroleh di Bukit Gantang dan Changkat Jering.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya teruskan perancangan berpindah ke Bukit Gantang dan berulang-alik setiap Sabtu untuk menjual sayur. Sayur-sayur ini dikutip sendiri dan beli daripada penduduk,&#8221;</i> katanya.</p>

<p>&#8220;In Kuala Lumpur, although the majority are Malays, the population ratio indicates <b>[a high prevalence&nbsp;of hardcore poverty] among Indians,</b> and we will <b>assist every family in Kuala Lumpur to emerge from&nbsp;the hardcore poverty line﻿</b>. This is our approach, but sometimes, we receive requests that only seek allocation for Indians.</p>
<p>&#8220;We have assisted all households facing hardcore poverty, regardless of whether they are Chinese, Malay, or Indian. <b>As of the latest data available, we have achieved 100% [hardcore poverty eradication] </b><b>in Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan</b><b></b>,&#8221; he was quoted as saying yesterday, 15 February.</p>
<p>Anwar has prioritised the eradication of hardcore poverty as one of the key objectives of his MADANI agenda.</p>

<p>Commenting on the complete eradication of hardcore poverty in two states and one Federal Territory today, 16 February, Anwar said that <b></b>there should be no room for failure in replicating the accomplishment nationwide<b>. </b></p>
<p><b></b>He highlighted the <b>significant zakat collections in several states as a key resource for achieving this goal</b>, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/02/16/no-more-excuses-for-hardcore-poverty-anwar-tells-state-zakat-agencies/">FMT</a>.</p>
<p>The prime minister stressed that zakat is intended to assist the poor, and state zakat authorities are duty-bound to prioritise the elimination of hardcore poverty.</p>
<p>&#8220;Zakat is not about generating revenue for the country. It is an institution dedicated to eradicating poverty.</p>
<p>&#8220;I cannot accept the fact that there are people who remain in the hardcore poor bracket despite states collecting large sums as zakat,&#8221; he said today.</p>

<p>Everyone could be seen smiling happily as they attempted to scoop up and walk away with some extra cash.</p>
<p>Some employees could be seen winning up to a few hundred ringgit.</p>
<p>MNJ Kitchen told SAYS that their boss gave out a total of RM10,000 that day.</p>

<p><p>According to a leaderboard shown at a Coldplay concert in Singapore recently, <b>only 90% of Malaysian attendees returned their light-up wristbands</b>&nbsp;after the show on 22 November.</p>
<p>In comparison, Singapore, Copenhagen, and Tokyo had wristband return rates of 91%, 96%, and 97%, respectively.</p>
<p>Malaysia&#8217;s return rate seemed the lowest in comparison to the other three cities on the leaderboard that was displayed at one of Coldplay&#8217;s six concerts held over two weekends in Singapore in January.</p>

<p>Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said this in response to the Johor Bahru City Council&#8217;s (MBJB) decision to freeze all applications for those businesses effective yesterday, 1 February, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bharian.com.my/berita/nasional/2024/02/1207578/kementerian-kaji-jika-perlu-beku-lesen-spa-di-kuala-lumpur-dr-zaliha">Berita Harian</a>.</p>
<p>She mentioned that a study will be conducted before any decision to freeze applications for such licences is implemented.</p>
<p>&#8220;As a responsible minister, we will [study the data first] before making any decision because we don&#8217;t want the decision to become an issue [in the future], and the best approach is to get all the information first,&#8221; she told reporters at an event yesterday.</p>

<p>Johor Bahru mayor Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman said the decision was made to control the proliferation of high-risk and sensitive businesses, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/02/01/govt-to-study-freezing-licence-applications-for-spas-massage-parlours/">FMT</a>. </p>
<p>&#8220;The move to freeze licence applications for high-risk and sensitive businesses is to allow MBJB to re-plan and rebrand these business activities, to be on par with those in developed countries and in line with MBJB&#8217;s image.</p>
<p>&#8220;Accordingly, MBJB will develop and issue a guideline for these high-risk and sensitive business activities,&#8221; <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bernama.com/en/general/news.php?id=2267490">Bernama</a> quoted him as saying.</p>
<p>He added that such businesses located in shopping centres and hotels can continue operating as they adhere to appropriate business hours.</p>
<p>He stated that the demand for this type of licences is high in the city, especially given its close proximity to Singapore and the significant number of tourists&nbsp;it attracts.</p>
<p>&#8220;However, at the same time, we do not want any immoral activities to take place at these premises,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>As for Alor Setar, the city stopped issuing licences to these businesses since October last year to align with the aspirations of the Kedah state government.</p>

<p>&#8220;When you come to Malaysia, you must bring instant noodles,&#8221; he says while walking in downtown Kuala Lumpur.</p>
<p>&#8220;<b>Not only do the restaurants here not taste good, the instant noodles here also taste bad.</b></p>
<p>&#8220;You have to bring the instant noodles that suit your taste buds from home,&#8221; he cautioned.</p>

<p>At the end of the video, he also criticises the dark colour of his noodles and questions why the bak kut teh he had the day before was so dark in colour too.</p>

<p>&#8220;Most of the Chinese people I know are nice people, but the two of you are a problem. How dare the both of you visit the country, complain about the food, and suggest that others eat&nbsp;instant noodles instead?&#8221; he asked.</p>
<p>He then urged the tourists to do their research and visit good restaurants before complaining about the entire country&#8217;s cuisine and embarrassing their own countrymen.</p>

<p>He will appear at The Exchange TRX today, 1 February, to officiate the World of the Predator Exhibition for adidas, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.hmetro.com.my/arena/bola-sepak/2024/01/1056339/beckham-kagum-pemandangan-menara-berkembar-petronas">Harian Metro</a>.</p>
