The police officer was part of a roadblock operation to nab drunk drivers.
A police sergeant is under investigation after he was found with more than RM3,000 cash on him while conducting a traffic roadblock to nab drunk drivers in Petaling Jaya
According to the New Straits Times, he was caught by the Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Unit (JIPS) when they did a spot check on the operation.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said a total of ten policemen are being investigated as a result of the spot check on the 'Op Alkohol' team at Jalan 11/3, Petaling Jaya at 2.30am on Sunday morning, 4 February.
Besides one inspector, all of the other policemen were lower-ranked, including sergeants, corporals, lance corporals, and constables.

The one traffic policeman in particular, a sergeant, had RM3,313 in his wallet and RM404 in cash stashed in a summons book in his car
Hussein Omar said a disciplinary investigation paper has been opened to identify the source of the cash and whether it was obtained through corrupt practices.
He added that all officers under the probe have been removed from enforcement duties until the investigation is completed.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain recently doubled down on his stance on corruption within the force, issuing a stern warning against errant members last Friday, 2 February
After a few recent viral cases of alleged misconduct involving the police, Razarudin told officers to adhere to the force's disciplinary code or "get lost".
"If you cannot adhere to our code of ethics, including the force's anti-corruption stance, then leave… What for [should you remain] in the force?
"Unfortunately, this kind of behaviour still exists here," he said.
