As your little ones grow older and venture beyond the confines of home, you may start getting worried about their safety

The fear of our children getting hurt is a universal worry among parents. While it's impossible to shield them from every bump and scrape, being prepared with the best tools and techniques for treating wounds can make a world of difference.

In a recent video, we got to have a chat with two pairs of parents — Riyal and Syaza, as well as Henry and Danielle — who opened up about how they handle their children's injuries

Watch the full video below:

To break the ice, we started by playing 'Guess The Wound' with the parents, and the first to score a point was Team Dad!

Henry: "That looks like a skateboard wound?"

Riyal: "Yes! Yes! Like someone fell onto the ground. We think it's an abrasion."

Henry: "Oh, with the technical term. Alright!"

But Team Mum wasn't far behind, and tied the match by guessing the wound from just one small part of the picture

Danielle: "Can I say a burn?

Producer: "A burn is correct!"

Team Mum: "Yay!"

When both parents were asked about their child's first wound, Henry started by sharing how it happened when they were cutting their daughter's nails

Henry: "We were trying to cut her nails, and we accidentally took like a little bit of the fingertip off. It was terrifying."

Riyal and Syaza went on to share that their family usually spends a lot of time outdoors, so their child gets lots of cuts while exploring around

Riyal: "We go camping and hiking a lot, and you know, you're around rocks and slippery and wet areas. Our baby slips a lot. She lands on her knees. She gets abrasions and cuts."

Interestingly, when there's too much blood to handle, Riyal passes the responsibility to his wife, who is a certified nurse

Riyal: "I just like give it all to her. Like, 'Handle this one. There's so much of blood. Use your nurse skills'."

Syaza: "So, technically, in managing wounds, it's really simple."
