<p>In a post shared on the Chinese social media platform <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.xiaohongshu.com/explore/65b470be000000002c012f80">XiaoHongShu</a>, the man named JS Lim revealed that he purchased a RM1.5 million semi-detached home in Johor Bahru at the age of 26.</p>
<p>Lim, who works in the funeral industry, expressed pride in this accomplishment, considering it the best gift he has ever given his parents.</p>
<p>&#8220;In fact, this is the second house I&#8217;ve purchased. The﻿ first one was for investment,&#8221; he wrote in the caption of his post.</p>

<p>He allegedly drowned them by locking them in two customised steel boxes.</h2>

<p>The gruesome murders came to light after residents of Ban Sang Khui in Phang Khon district alerted authorities about the two suspicious steel boxes near a pond, <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2024/01/09/sakon-nakhon-police-find-2-steel-coffins-submerged-in-a-pond-evil-double-murder/">reported</a> the Thai Examiner last week.</p>
<p>The man, identified as Warut Datephumee, reportedly admitted to killing his father, Prayat Datephumee, and sister, Piangpen Datephumee, while also revealing the motive behind the crime, <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-man-cites-inheritance-arguments-as-motive-for-drowning-family">reported</a> Thaiger.</p>

<p>Warut said that there have been simmering tensions between the family over an inheritance dispute. His father&#8217;s repeated threats to sever ties and cut off the expected inheritance fueled resentment.</p>
<p>According to Thaiger, Warut claimed that he felt stressed because he could not impress his father in any way. He was also angry with his autistic sister, who always agreed with everything their father said.</p>
<p>The report stated that he felt like no one was standing by his side, so he planned their murders.</p>
<p>Warut explained that he designed the metal boxes. He paid a local metal factory TBH12,000 (approximately RM1,600) to put the wheels on the boxes so that they could be pushed around easily.</p>
<p>When the factory workers asked about the purpose of the boxes, he claimed that he wanted the boxes for his YouTube videos.</p>
<p>However, he lured his father and sister into the boxes, asking them to try what he described as &#8216;innovative beds&#8217;. He then locked them inside, carried the boxes to the pond, and dumped them there, reported Thaiger.</p>
