<p>Well, it&#8217;s a scam.</h2>

<p>First of all, Kuala Lumpur International Airport has two main terminals: Terminal 1, the original hub formerly known as simply KLIA, and the newer Terminal 2, previously known as klia2.</p>
<p>Both <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://says.com/my/news/klia-terminal-2-renaming-klia2">now bear</a> the official designations KLIA Terminal 1 and KLIA Terminal 2.</p>
<p>Secondly, they are managed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, and the company only has one official Facebook page, <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.facebook.com/MalaysiaAirportsOfficial/">Malaysia Airports</a>.</p>
<p><b>Most importantly</b>, lost belongings find their way home rather than ending up on auction blocks, as <b>Malaysia Airports does not engage in the sale of lost items or luggage</b> under any circumstances.</p>

<p>The scam Facebook page titled &#8216;Kuala Lumpur International Airport&#8217; has uploaded several posts and ads, claiming to have &#8220;lost suitcases with electronics&#8221; for sale.</p>
<p>A check by SAYS showed that the page is listed under the &#8216;Tutor/Teacher&#8217; category and was set up in Casablanca, Morocco. It started posting about selling lost luggage on 10 January this year.</p>
<p>Some of the posts on the scam page have garnered a lot of attention, with one post even attracting over a thousand comments and more than a thousand shares.</p>

<p>The Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry﻿ (KPDN) has cautioned consumers about potential scams involving the online sale of cooking oil packaged in 1kg polybags. </p>
<p>In an <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.kpdn.gov.my/ms/media-kpdnhep/berita-kpdn/berita-terkini/2024-berita-terkini/1916-kpdn-pantau-aktiviti-scam-penjualan-minyak-masak-dalam-talian">official statement</a>, the ministry said it had received numerous complaints from individuals who fell victim to the scam, which involves buying cooking oil from online sources such as social media or e-commerce platforms.</p>

<p><p>This effort has resulted in the removal of a total of 198 advertisements related to the online sale of regulated cooking oil items.</p>
<p>KPDN also ﻿issued a strong warning to all parties engaged in the trade of controlled and subsidised goods, particularly cooking oil, emphasising the importance of compliance with the law. The ministry said it would not tolerate any entity found involved in the unauthorised sale or misappropriation of controlled and subsidised goods, whether through online platforms or otherwise.</p>
