The couple had ordered the meal for delivery from a restaurant in Bandar Mahkota Cheras through Grab.</p>
<p>&#8220;I can tolerate it if the food my wife ordered is not delicious, but not to the extent of being spoiled and endangering her health,&#8221; he wrote.</p>

<p>According to the man, Grab rejected his refund request because it was unable to verify whether the food was spoiled based on pictures alone.</p>
<p>&#8220;My wife is seven months pregnant and suffered from severe diarrhoea and stomach pain after consuming spoiled food from this restaurant. The frustrating part is that we filed a complaint, but Grab Malaysia didn&#8217;t bother to investigate at all,&#8221; he claimed.</p>

<p>&#8220;Hello, the beef rendang is spoiled. It smelled bad and had a sour taste. Next time, please check your food before you serve it to your customers. Now I have to throw my dinner away and order again. Please refund my money!&#8221; wrote one customer.</p>

<p>In response to one of the reviews, the restaurant claimed that the customer was envious and had fabricated their review to obtain free food.</p>
<p>&#8220;This [review] must have been made out of jealousy. Grab is also stupid: the customer ordered pulut kuning but said that the nasi lemak was spoiled. Just say that you&#8217;re a liar who wants to get free food,&#8221; wrote the restaurant.</p>

<p><b>The new restaurant&nbsp;located 282m above ground, named ARAS, will be replacing Atmosphere 360,</b>&nbsp;which was found to be unlawfully occupying the premises in December last year.</p>
<p>The former restaurant operator was ordered to stop operations and vacate the premises by the High Court on 22 December, just before the holiday season.</p>

<p>While the revolving restaurant used to also be open for lunch and hi-tea, it is said&nbsp;<b>ARAS will only be open for dinner for now.</b></p>

<p>According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.kosmo.com.my/2024/01/16/peniaga-diberi-tempoh-dua-hari-tunjuk-kos-menu-ayam-goreng-kunyit-rm20/">Kosmo</a>, Kedah KPDN enforcement head Affendi Rajini Kanth said they issued a Notice of Confirmation of Goods Information (NPMB) against the restaurant after a customer&#8217;s post about her expensive meal&nbsp;went viral on social media.</p>
<p>In the post, a woman expressed her dissatisfaction by stating that she was charged RM20 for a serving of ayam goreng kunyit at the restaurant.</p>
<p>Additionally, she mentioned paying RM3 for plain rice and RM1 for a glass of water, bringing the total cost of the simple meal to RM24.</p>
<p>Following the experience, the woman expressed her dismay, stating, &#8220;That&#8217;s why people say Langkawi is expensive.&#8221;  </p>
<p>&#8220;Do you think it is fair to be charged like this?&#8221; she asked.</p>

<p><p>Affendi mentioned that upon inspecting the food prices at the premises, they found a total of 10 menu books provided for customers.</p>
<p>&#8220;The price of RM20 for the ayam goreng kunyit is indeed recorded, so in this case, the price is displayed,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>&#8220;However, we issued the notice, and the trader needs to justify the value or cost associated with that food price,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Affendi stated that the owner has been given two days to justify the pricing.</p>

<p>According to the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/01/1001833/rm20-plate-ayam-goreng-kunyit-owner-questions-intention-customer-taking">New Straits Times</a>, the owner, Zulfan Bustami, stated that the customer was provided with a menu, in which it was clearly indicated that the dish was priced at RM20.</p>
<p>The 43-year-old owner said despite seeing the price on the menu, the customer didn&#8217;t raise any concerns before placing the order and while paying at the counter.</p>
<p>&#8220;Later, she takes to social media, inviting negative perceptions, what is her actual motive for doing this?&#8221; questioned Zulfan.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was not at the restaurant at the time of the incident, I only found out about it after being informed by the employees about the photos of the food and the receipt amounting to RM24 which had gone viral on social media,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Zulfan also mentioned that he tried to contact the customer through Facebook to discuss the issue and express his readiness to meet and apologize. However, the customer has consistently ignored his messages.</p>

<p><p>In a <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/133453940491108/permalink/1838298213339997/" title="Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/133453940491108/permalink/1838298213339997/">Facebook post</a> in a Melaka community group, the user, Byran King, said he was initially skeptical upon seeing the restaurant&#8217;s &#8216;free meal&#8217; post online.</p>
<p>&#8220;I was a little doubtful at first. Where in the world would there be such a kind restaurant owner? I wanted to see if it was just for advertising, so I went to the restaurant today,&#8221; he wrote.</p>
<p>When visiting the restaurant in Kota Laksamana, the man said he was greeted by the owner with the menu, but he requested for the promotional set meal he saw online, expecting the owner to turn him down as he assumed it was a marketing gimmick.</p>
<p>However, the owner not only confirmed his order and kindly asked him to take a seat, but also assured him that the free meal would not be spicy.<b></b></p>

<p>The incident, which happened on 2 January, came to light after <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://twitter.com/jllmisai/status/1741856582152200634?t=wHMmE7LQaCxLC04ym9Y3KA&amp;s=19">a video</a>&nbsp;was uploaded on X by a user, Jalal Misai. </p>
<p>The 22-second video showed a police officer trying to apprehend a rider who was dangerously manoeuvring his motorcycle. In an attempt to evade detention, the rider was seen speeding through and knocking over tables and chairs outside the restaurant.  </p>
<p>South Klang district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong said the incident happened at 3am when the traffic enforcement and investigation department was carrying out a crime prevention operation, &#8216;Op Ambang Tahun Baru 2024&#8217;.</p>
<p>&#8220;During the operation, some errant motorcyclists were competing and going head to head with one another. They tried to escape from being detained when they saw the police personnel,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/crime-courts/2024/01/996729/fast-and-furious-motorcyclists-escape-turns-local-restaurant-chaos">New Straits Times</a> quoted him as saying.</p>
<p>&#8220;Attempts were made to block or stop a Yamaha Y15 motorcycle that was being ridden fast and dangerously by a man, but somehow he managed to escape and ride away,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>The case is currently being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.</p>

<p>He noted that Malaysians prefer to eat outdoors at restaurants because they find it warmer inside and prefer the open-air atmosphere, reported the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/01/997000/outdoor-dining-incidents-prompt-calls-stricter-measures">New Straits Times.</a></p>
<p>&#8220;But anything could happen and we can never know the circumstances and what might happen next,&#8221; said Lee.</p>
<p>&#8220;Of course, they [customers] have the right to eat wherever they want. But at the same time, they must be conscious of their safety,&#8221; he added.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Lee mentioned that, according to the report, the incident occurred as the police were chasing these reckless motorcyclists who were attempting to escape from being detained.</p>
<p>However, he also said there have been instances in the past where incidents like cars crashing into eateries occurred even without police operations.</p>
<p>&#8220;Fortunately, (this) incident did not involve any injuries or death,&#8221; he said.</p>

<p>&#8220;So, which one is more important? Safety or business? This is something that local authorities should monitor,&#8221; he said.</p>
