<p><p>The issue gained public attention when a snippet of Datuk Rosyam Nor making the controversial remark during a podcast called <i>Hitam Putih Kehidupan</i> was shared on <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@suhanchannelofficial/video/7320921965617892609?_r=1&amp;_t=8isMgbk6CgL">TikTok</a>, reported the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/01/998789/rosyam-nor-there-should-be-prostitution-dens-foreign-workers">New Straits Times.</a></p>
<p><i>Hitam Putih Kehidupan</i> is a podcast hosted by Rosyam and Adzlina Hasan, an entrepreneur. The specific episode, titled &#8220;Are women addicted to porn?&#8221; discussed the issue of pornography addiction among Malaysians.</p>
<p>The 56-second clip began with Rosyam advocating the need for brothels in the country.  As he made the statement, the podcast&#8217;s guest, a psychiatrist named Aiman Amri, questioned him, asking, &#8220;Why is it needed?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;There are about three million foreign workers who come here to work in our country, and almost all of them have left their wives behind in their home country,&#8221; Rosyam explained.</p>
<p>&#8220;These foreign workers are mostly men, and men always have these urges, you know what I mean, right? But how can they fulfil them without their wives?&#8221; he asked.</p>

<p><p>&#8220;If they (the foreigners) look at our wives and daughters passing by, who knows, they might resort to rape. Such uncontrolled emotions could lead to repetitive thoughts playing over and over again in some of their minds,&#8221; he claimed.</p>
<p>He further added, &#8220;When they are free, they might be watching porn as well. So if there are prostitution dens, at least they will go to such a place to address their feelings and emotions instead of being unable to control their urges and end up raping someone.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rosyam asserted that  it was just his personal view on the issue of rape crimes and asked viewers to judge for themselves.</p>
<p>&#8220;That is my personal opinion. But please, think about it yourselves. I could be wrong, and then again, perhaps I could be right,&#8221; he said.</p>
