<p>&#8220;I acknowledge the weight of this responsibility. Upon receiving any appeal, I promptly request the Pardons Board to convene and deliberate on the matter,&#8221; he explained.</p>
<p>Anwar mentioned that he participated in the Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting ﻿on 9 December, given his responsibility for Federal Territories-related matters at that time.</p>
<p>After a cabinet reshuffle, Dr Zaliha Mustafa took over the Federal Territories portfolio, representing Anwar in subsequent board meetings. Despite limited attendance, Anwar stayed actively involved in the review process.</p>

<p>This post coincided with the Federal Territories <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://says.com/my/news/its-confirmed-najib-got-a-50-discount-on-his-sentence">Pardons Board&#8217;s confirmation</a> that Datuk Seri Najib Razak&#8217;s jail sentence had been reduced from 12 years to six.</p>
<p>&#8220;Ah. No escape after all.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) himself acted very fast, very efficient, working overtime on a Sunday, paying personal attention to the reports, presumably filed by UMNO boys.</p>
</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ll be giving my statement to the police at Bukit Aman at 1pm tomorrow (5 February).</p>
<p>&#8220;Wish me luck!&#8221; wrote Pua, who has always been critical of the 1MDB scandal from as early as 2010.</p>

<p>The statements that will be investigated are:<br />– &#8220;Trust me, it&#8217;s not a scam&#8221;<br />– &#8220;Oh, wow, after all these years, Najib/UMNO cybertroopers still love me&#8221;<br />– &#8220;Can someone send me to jail for one year and in exchange, pay me RM50 million?&#8221;<br />– &#8220;Pretty please?&#8221;<br />– &#8220;King Klep pardoned!!&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Such statements are seditious in nature as they incite the public to harbour resentment and disrespect towards the royal institution, pertaining to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong&#8217;s absolute powers in exercising his authority under Article 42 of the Federal Constitution,&#8221; <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.facebook.com/pdrmsiaofficial/posts/785053550321534">said</a>&nbsp;Razarudin.</p>
<p>He added that Pua will be probed under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.</p>
<p>Razarudin&#8217;s statement comes after UMNO Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh announced that the youth wing would file police reports nationwide against Pua, citing alleged disrespectful remarks against the royal institution, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/02/04/tony-pua-facing-sedition-probe-over-fb-posts-says-igp/">FMT</a>.</p>
<p>UMNO vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also called for Pua to remove his posts and issue an apology, warning that failure to do so could lead to legal action.</p>

<p>He was welcomed by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Laksamana Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Sultan Salahuddin.</p>
<p>Upon disembarking from his private plane, Sultan Ibrahim walked through a guard of honour formed by officers of the Malaysian Armed Forces.</p>
<p>He then headed to the Special 264th Meeting of the Council of Rulers to recite his oath and sign the letter of appointment to be officially proclaimed as the 17th Agong of Malaysia.</p>

<p>As the King, he serves as the head of state under the nation&#8217;s constitutional monarchy system.</p>
<p>He is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. He is also the head of Islam in the four states ruled by appointed governors, and the three Federal Territories, as well as in his own state.</p>
<p>In the coming five years, the 65-year-old King holds the responsibility of attending pre-Cabinet and Pardons Board meetings, consenting to laws passed by the parliament, as well as visiting and welcoming foreign leaders and monarchs, among other tasks.</p>

<p>Born on 22 November 1958 in Johor Bahru, Sultan Ibrahim has a notable military background, having completed a slew of military training and courses.</p>
<p>He started his journey as a platoon commander during his training days at the Army Combat Training Centre (Pulada) in Ulu Tiram, reported the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2024/01/1007901/forged-steel-%E2%80%94-life-sultan-ibrahim">New Straits Times</a>.</p>
<p>Following that, he participated in various training programmes in the US, including specialised courses led by the US Special Forces and the US Army Pathfinder Course. Throughout this period, he completed 19 parachute jumps, with eight of them conducted under the cover of darkness.</p>
<p>Additionally, he&#8217;s a commissioned member of the US Navy SEALs and an honorary member of Indonesia&#8217;s Commando Special Forces.</p>
<p>He also underwent helicopter pilot training with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and engaged in a three-month training programme with the Royal Malaysian Navy in Lumut, Perak.</p>
<p>Beside his military accomplishments, he also completed two academic courses, namely the Southeast Asian Strategic Studies and the International Law of the Sea at Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Tufts University, Boston, reported <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.bernama.com/en/news.php?id=2267123">Bernama</a>.</p>

<p><p>Proclaimed as Tunku Mahkota (crown prince) Johor in 1981, Sultan Ibrahim later served as the regent of Johor when his father was serving as the eighth King between 1984 and 1989.</p>
<p>He became the Sultan of Johor on 23 January 2010 following his father&#8217;s passing, before officially being crowned on 23 March 2015.</p>

<p>As recently as last Sunday, 28 January, he was seen returning to his palace in Johor Bahru in a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Scat, accompanied by his entourage in a Chevrolet Tahoe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He is also recognised for championing the concept of Bangsa Johor, fostering unity and pride among Johorians.</p>
<p>Prior to his installation as the King today, Sultan Ibrahim said he is committed to eradicating corruption in Malaysia, emphasising the need for independent judicial appointments and direct reporting of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to the King.</p>

<p>Menerusi laporan <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.hmetro.com.my/utama/2024/01/1055625/lima-tahun-tak-ambil-gaji">Harian Metro</a>, baginda juga ada mendedahkan detik awal memikul tanggungjawab sebagai ketua negara ketika itu bukan sahaja dalam keadaan sukar akibat pergolakan politik malah berada dalam kekaburan dengan jawatan dan peranan yang perlu disandang.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;Detik pertama saya masuk Istana Negara memberi pengalaman agak manis apabila diingat semula. Ini kerana saya masuk ke jawatan yang saya sendiri tidak pasti apa peranannya.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Ketika dilantik, saya baru 15 hari menjadi Sultan Pahang, banyak perkara yang saya masih tak tahu dan kemudian terus dilantik sebagai YDPA. Memang ia agak sukar bagi saya kerana tiada pengalaman, tetapi saya belajar perlahan-lahan.<br /></i><i><br />&#8220;Ditambah dengan empat Perdana Menteri yang ada sepanjang lima tahun saya menjadi Agong, siapalah saya dibandingkan dengan mereka yang berpengalaman, tetapi saya banyak bertanya, belajar dan membaca,&#8221;</i> titah baginda.</p>

<p><p>Sehari sebelum perjumpaan bersama Perdana Menteri, baginda akan membaca kertas Kabinet bagi membolehkannya mengetahui isu dibincangkan.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya akan bertanya mana-mana kertas Kabinet yang saya perlu tahu dan jika tidak bersetuju, saya nyatakan pandangan itu.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Alhamdulillah, segala pandangan dan nasihat saya diterima dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Kita ada kerjasama dua hala dan teguran saya kepada Perdana Menteri juga dimaklumkan kepada Kabinet.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Hubungan baik ini perlu diteruskan kerana segala tadbir urus negara boleh diselesai menerusi mesyuarah antara YDPA dengan Perdana Menteri. Ada juga sesi dengan menteri dan jika ada isu dibangkitkan, ia juga diselesai secara berhemah.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya suka menulis dan sepanjang lima tahun menjadi Agong, saya mencatat segala maklumat dan teguran penting kepada kerajaan, setakat ini sudah ada tujuh buku catatan itu.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya suka membaca dan mendalami urus tadbir negara, ia sesuatu yang menarik. Ini kerana ketika di Pahang, saya menjadi Tengku Mahkota selama 16 tahun dan 15 hari sebagai Sultan Pahang, ini semua tak pernah saya lalui.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Buku yang saya tulis ini juga boleh dirujuk semula ketika bersama keluarga apabila tua nanti, sekurang-kurangnya saya boleh berkongsi dengan anak-anak apa peranan saya ketika menjadi Agong.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Ada rakan mencadangkan saya menulis memoir tetapi bukan sekarang. Saya juga ada mempelawa satu universiti jika mahu membuat kajian kes, saya sedia berkongsi pengalaman mengenai apa yang dilalui sepanjang menjadi Agong,&#8221;</i> titah baginda.</p>

<p><p>Titah baginda, ini membuktikan kuasa YDPA sangat luas walaupun tiada kuasa eksekutif, tetapi ia cukup untuk melunaskan urusan tadbir negara dalam konteks yang dibenarkan Perlembagaan.</p>
<p><i>&#8220;Agong juga berperanan sebagai panglima tertinggi tentera, namun peranan itu mungkin boleh diperkukuhkan lagi, bukan setakat ambil tabik saja.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Polis baru-baru ini ada cadangan menjadikan YDPA sebagai ketua kehormat yang akan dibincang dalam Parlimen pada masa terdekat. Ini formaliti saja supaya Agong boleh memakai seragam polis dan ini sesuai dengan perkataan diraja pada Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) itu,&#8221; </i>titah baginda.<i></i></p>
<p><i></i>Mengulas tindakan baginda sering merujuk sesuatu isu kepada Majlis Raja-Raja (MRR) sebelum keputusan dibuat mengenainya, Al-Sultan Abdullah bertitah, ia dilakukan bagi menghormati pelantikan baginda ke jawatan itu dibuat oleh majlis berkenaan.<i></i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya sedar lantikan saya dibuat dengan perkenan MRR dan saya bertindak juga bagi mewakili MRR. Apa yang saya buat ialah saya bermesyuarah dan berbincang yang akhirnya saya sendiri akan membuat keputusan mengenainya.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Contohnya, Perdana Menteri dilantik oleh YDPA tetapi perkara itu saya bincang dengan MRR, saya dengar pandangan dan maklumkan keputusan siapa yang akan dilantik,&#8221; titah baginda.</i></p>
<p><i></i>Sementara itu, baginda gembira untuk pulang ke Pahang dan menyantuni rakyat di negeri berkenaan dan mengakui peranan terbabit berbeza ketika memimpin negara.<i></i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Saya suka berjumpa dan membantu rakyat kerana ia memberi semangat kepada saya. Sebenarnya banyak kerja yang perlu dilakukan di Pahang nanti sebab saya hanya sempat menjadi Sultan Pahang selama 15 hari saja sebelum ini.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Kini rakyat menantikan saya sebagai Sultan, jadi saya dan isteri, akan melawat setiap daerah untuk bertemu rakyat dan membantu mereka yang miskin.</i></p>
<p><i>&#8220;Bagi saya, mungkin saya bukan raja Malaysia lagi selepas ini, tetapi saya tetap akan jadi raja di hati anda semua selamanya,&#8221;</i> titah baginda.</p>

<p>According to a post on Istana Negara&#8217;s Instagram <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C2MjtSKBgT1/?hl=en">page</a>, the exclusive <i>Buletin Diraja</i> (Royal Bulletin) was aired yesterday night, 17 January, during a special segment of <i>Buletin Utama</i> on TV3.</p>
<p>In the segment, the royal couple narrated details of their special visit to Sri Pentas in Bandar Utama from a third-person perspective. The coverage also included highlights of their tour at Konti Radio within the premises of Media Prima Audio.</p>
<p>Adding a playful touch to their segment, the two royal presenters revealed that Their Majesties dropped by the set of Buletin Utama during their visit. The Queen playfully remarked that the person she saw on the monitor bore a striking resemblance to her husband.</p>
<p>&#8220;History was made when Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah showed their skills as news reporters. Eh, his face looks familiar!&#8221; the Queen said in jest.</p>
<p>Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah then concluded the segment by expressing their gratitude to everyone at Media Prima for ensuring the success of their visit.</p>
