"RM218! It Broke Our Record!" — Man Goes Viral For Ordering The Most Expensive Nasi Kandar
The customer ordered a dozen pieces of sotong and a dozen pieces of prawns.
Last week, a man set a new record at a restaurant by ordering and consuming the most expensive nasi kandar dish for a single person, totaling RM218
In a Facebook posted last Saturday, 20 January, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman in George Town, Penang, shared photos of a customer who became the first customer of the restaurant to surpass the RM200 mark for a single order at the restaurant.
In the pictures, the man, donning in an Arsenal jersey, looked unfazed by his large order of food, seemingly prepared to wolf down the three plates of aromatic delicacy.
Siakapkeli reported that the man is said to have ordered 12 pieces of sotong and 12 pieces of prawns, along with chicken, fish, meat, lamb, and a salted duck egg.
"RM218! It broke our record! It's [our restaurant's] biggest order for a single person that surpasses the RM200 mark.
"Even I didn't expect a person can eat more than RM200 [worth of nasi kandar]. Penang people are unbelievable," wrote Nasi Kandar Sulaiman, which is based in George Town, Penang.

At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 6,000 likes and 1,400 shares
Thousands of netizens expressed their disbelief at the man's voracity and willingness to spend over RM200 at a humble nasi kandar restaurant.
"Wahlaueh, that's too much food for one person," remarked a netizen, while another person said in jest, "Okay, I admit defeat."
"I'd give up after eating three sotong," wrote a Facebook user.
"You're so good at marketing, letting customers to break your records," a netizen said in reply to Nasi Kandar Sulaiman's post.

In a recent update on January 21, Nasi Kandar Sulaiman clarified that the viral post, along with all the other posts on its page, were not staged
"Everything that we post on our page is unplanned. Everything happens coincidentally; we just take photos and post.
"But, alhamdulillah, with Allah's permission, many of our posts have gone viral," the restaurant said.
