Some GPT users are openly violating OpenAI's rules by releasing 'girlfriend bots' on the GPT Store

Earlier this month, OpenAI introduced the GPT Store, allowing users to share with others custom versions of the company's popular ChatGPT chatbot.

However, the OpenAI explicitly states that GPTs cannot be used for romantic purposes

In its usage policies, OpenAI states, "Don't build tools that may be inappropriate for minors, including sexually explicit or suggestive content.

"We don't allow GPTs dedicated to fostering romantic companionship or performing regulated activities," the company wrote.'

However, GPT creators are coming up with creative names for their girlfriend bots circumvent this restriction

Many of these creators have come up with creative names titles like 'sweetheart' to avoid breaking the rules and being flagged as inappropriate.

OpenAI is currently working on tightening its rules. Now, searches for words like 'sex', 'escort', 'companion', and 'honey' produce fewer relevant options. Besides that, curse words are also banned.

There is a demand for 'virtual girlfriends' and erotic chatbots

Unfortunately, the GPT Store is not the place for users to find such bots, and they're likely to be searching for them elsewhere.
