<p>In a statement, Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said the police will not tolerate any misconduct from officers or personnel involved in the incident.</p>
<p>In the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkK8oWxPZcU">video</a>, the couple, Chris and Marianne Fisher, filmed themselves being stopped by a Malaysian police officer while driving to Ipoh.</p>
<p>The officer informed the travellers of their violation of the speed limit, claiming that the van was being driven at 80km/h, exceeding the permitted speed limit of 60km/h.</p>

<p>After agreeing to settle the &#8216;discounted summons&#8217; and handing over two RM50 banknotes to the officer, the Fishers paused on the side of the road to process what had just occurred.</p>
<p>Unaware that such an action was actually illegal, they﻿&nbsp;then complimented the Malaysian traffic law system for its convenience in facilitating fine payments.</p>
<p>At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 121,000 views and 1,000 comments.</p>
<p>According to <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2024/01/29/police-looking-for-british-couple-who-settled-on-the-spot-summons-says-perak-top-cop">The Star</a>, the police are currently attempting to identify the location, time, and date of the incident, as well as the policeman involved.</p>

<p>Visual van yang dipandu pasangan itu ditahan oleh anggota polis trafik yang lengkap berpakaian seragam pada minit ke 3:52 dalam perkongsian bertajuk <i>“UK Van Lifers stopped by the polis in Malaysia”</i>.</p>

<p><p>Dalam perbualan, polis trafik itu mendakwa van tersebut dipandu 80 kilometer sejam berbanding had laju yang dibenarkan iaitu 60 kilometer pada pukul 11.50 pagi.</p>
<p>Pemandu van berkenaan seorang wanita bertanya apa yang perlu mereka lakukan.</p>
<p><i>“Saya akan berikan kamu surat saman dan kamu pergi ke balai polis untuk membayarnya. Boleh? Atau bayar di sini?” </i>soal polis trafik berkenaan.</p>
<p>Wanita itu kemudian berkata, terpulang kepada polis trafik tersebut sama ada hendak memberi surat saman atau membuat bayaran serta-merta.</p>
<p><i>“Kalau (bayar) di balai polis RM300. Kalau di sini RM100,”</i> kata polis trafik tersebut sambil melihat telefonnya.</p>

<p>Anggota polis trafik itu kelihatan mengambil wang berkenaan sahaja tanpa memberikan sebarang surat saman.</p>
<p>Malah beliau menolak untuk melihat sebarang dokumen selepas wanita berkenaan membuat tawaran untuk berbuat demikian.</p>
<p>Dalam komen yang dibuat dalam video berkenaan, pasangan itu berkata mereka tidak menyedari telah memandu melebihi had laju.</p>
<p>Bagaimanapun katanya, membayar secara tunai dengan kadar yang lebih rendah di lokasi kejadian adalah pilihan yang baik berbanding terpaksa pergi ke balai polis dan membayar denda yang tinggi.</p>

<p>Previously, Reddit users began reporting how <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://says.com/my/tech/your-youtube-experience-might-be-slower-if-you-are-using-an-ad-blocker">YouTube would suddenly lag </a>and become unresponsive. When they disabled their ad blocker, however, YouTube functioned normally without any issues.</p>
<p>Last year, YouTube began warning users against using ad blockers on the video-sharing platform. As a result, many initially assumed that Google had a hand in YouTube&#8217;s slowdown to force users to disable their ad blockers or sign up for YouTube Premium.</p>
<p>Google, however, has confirmed that the slowdown is not linked to its ad blocker detection efforts.</p>

<p>Eyeo, the parent company of AdBlock and AdBlock Plus, revealed that its users experienced performance-related issues on YouTube <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.androidauthority.com/youtube-slowdown-google-statement-3403594/">due to a bug </a>which caused increased CPU usage. This consequently causes their YouTube videos to lag. </p>
<p>The company has released updates to rectify the issue in the latest versions of both ad blockers, ABP 3.22.1 and AB 5.17.1. These updates are available in the Opera, Edge, Chrome, and Mozilla extension stores.<br />﻿<br />So, if you&#8217;re experiencing laggy videos on YouTube and you&#8217;re using an ad blocker, there&#8217;s a high chance you need to update your ad blocker.</p>
