<p>In the aftermath of Sunday night&#8217;s New Year&#8217;s Eve celebrations, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has expressed its disappointment in Malaysians who left trash strewn across the streets of KL.</h2>

<p><p>In a <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.facebook.com/100050360955386/posts/911930757162281/?mibextid=WC7FNe">Facebook post </a>on 1 January, DBKL shared photos of rubbish left behind in the wake of the festivities across the capital, saying Malaysians still exhibited &#8220;a third-class mentality&#8221;.</p>
<p><b>&#8220;The beginning for Kuala Lumpur this year is, as usual, tainted by the attitudes of some city dwellers with old habits,&#8221;</b> it wrote.</p>
<p>The city hall lamented that there were people who had no qualms about littering with the assumption that &#8220;DBKL would clean it up later&#8221;.﻿</p>

<p><p>&#8220;Oddly enough, we always want to compare Kuala Lumpur with other cities in terms of beauty. Shouldn&#8217;t we also consider the attitudes of their citizens towards cleanliness?&#8221; it asked.</p>
<p>DBKL added that it was not asking Malaysians to clean the city, <b></b>but to just clean up after themselves.<b></b></p>
<p><b></b><b>&#8220;We&#8217;re not asking for your help to clean up KL, but just as a start, everyone should manage their own trash.</b></p>
<p>&#8220;Don&#8217;t litter everywhere, and if necessary, bring your own trash bag,&#8221; it suggested.</p>
