1. Since U Been Gone — Kelly Clarkson

One of her most popular songs of all time, Since U Been Gone has been hailed one of the best pop songs of the 2010s, even making it to Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time at number 93 in 2021.

2. Yeah! — Usher (feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris)

Featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris, Usher's infectious hit Yeah! not only dominated charts worldwide, but earned the singer a Grammy Award to boot. The song's pulsating rhythm and memorable hook made it a staple in nightclubs, and it remains a dancefloor jam to this day.

3. Somebody Told Me — The Killers

Released on 15 March 2004, Somebody Told Me was nominated for Best Rock Song at the 2005 Grammy Awards.

The Killers are also known for their song, Mr. Brightside, which was first released in 2003. It became more popular when it was re-released in 2004.

4. If I Ain't Got You — Alicia Keys

From her 2003 album, The Diary of Alicia Keys, this song was nominated for Song of the Year and won Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the Grammy Awards in 2005.

5. My Happy Ending — Avril Lavigne

Released two years after pop-punk hits such as Complicated and Sk8er Boi, this song is a 2000s classic and definitely a must-have on your angsty, grunge playlist.

6. Lose My Breath — Destiny's Child

The track's opening sequence features a marching band drum line that easily pulls listeners in.

This song was released on the trio's fifth and final studio album, Destiny Fulfilled (2004), before their official disbandment in 2006.

7. Boulevard of Broken Dreams — Green Day

Best known as one of Green Day's signature songs, this track was released as a single from the band's seventh studio album, American Idiot, which also spawned another famous track, Wake Me Up When September Ends.

8. She Will Be Loved — Maroon 5

The song was released on 21 June 2004, as the third single from Maroon 5's 2002 debut studio album, Songs About Jane. Another well-known song from this album turning 20 is This Love.

9. Let Me Love You — Mario

Let Me Love You was co-written by fellow R&B singer Ne-Yo and became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2005. Although the singer has released five studio albums, this song is probably what he is most well-known for.

10. 1, 2 Step — Ciara (feat. Missy Elliott)

Released in November 2004, this song was a promotional single for Ciara's debut album Goodies. 1, 2 Step was ranked 59th on Billboard's Top 100 Songs of the 2000s.

Despite being two-decades old, this song is still "automatic, supersonic, hypnotic, funky fresh".
